|
Sanctuary Days - a time to rest from work and seek after God.
1st Friday of each month 10:00am - 9:00pm (except August)
the Church is open for anyone wanting to spend their own time
alone in God's presence.
Next: Friday 2nd March 2012
Slowing down and taking time to be quiet and alone, in order to seek God, is a challenge for us in today. However, if we are sincere in our commitment to do so, we will be richly rewarded. Here is an opportunity. Whoever you are, we pray that you will encounter God's love and power in Jesus Christ.
'Sanctuary' - 'a Holy Place,' a place set apart, where God can be sought and found. In Him, there is safety. Sanctuary Prayer is about making time to be still, seek after and draw near to God.
SolSs"Hurry is the great enemy of spiritual life in our day. Hurry can destroy our soul. Hurry can keep us from living well......Again and again, as we pursue spiritual life, we must do battle with hurry. For many of us the great danger is not that we will renounce our faith. It is that we will become so distracted and rushed and preoccupied that we will settle for a mediocre version of it. We will just skim our lives instead of actually living them." John Ortberg.
'O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory. Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise You.' Psalm 63: 1-5
